ESU Shakespeare Monologue Contest Finals
Friday, January 20, at 9:50 a.m.The school finals for the 2012 Shakespeare Monologue Contest, sponsored by the English-Speaking Union, will be held during Morning Meeting tomorrow, in the Chapel. The ten finalists from last week's preliminary round will present their monologues, having workshopped them with a professional actor from the Great Lakes Theater Festival, with the winner advancing to the regional finals in Cleveland. Family and friends are welcome to attend.

UPDATE 1.23.12: The winners were announced today during Morning Meeting.
Julia Ferguson was the winner, performing Lady Macbeth's second act monologue from "Macbeth." She received a copy of the Oxford Complete Works of Shakespeare, and will represent WRA at the regional finals in Cleveland on February 25.
Michael Nichols was the runner-up, performing the role of Angelo from "Measure for Measure." He won a copy of "The Tempest," and will serve as the alternate in the event that the winner is unable to compete.
